Cleaning gas ring cooker

One of my gas rings gives flame only on a small part of the ring. Tried to clean it with oven cleaner and no luck.

Unscrew the lid if possible. I did this on mine when the flame became yellow. Use a vacuum cleaner to suck up all the "dust/rust/crud/etc" that has accumulated at the bottom. It is unbelievable the amount of stuff that accumulates there. I don’t know where it is coming from but is is there every year. Just added it to my maintenance list.

Thanks. Will try. So far i failed to unscrew the sctew on the ring.
