wireless wind instruments

Anybody have an opinion on/experience with Clipper instruments (Clipper Wireless Wind - Nasa Marine Instruments) or Sailtimer (http://www.sailtimerwind.com/)?

Re: wireless wind instruments

My experience with SailTimer is very poor. When I ordered, they estimated 6 weeks till shipping. It has now been over 20 weeks and nothing, and very poor communication. I requested a refund and they refused, so now I am filing a chargeback on my credit card for non-delivery.

Poor company to do business with. I can't vouch for their product one way or another as I have yet to see anything.

Re: wireless wind instruments

I have Clipper Wind (not wireless), depth and log installed. I get the feeling that only the depth sounder is accurate - the wind meter seems to always give a lower reading than I expect. Same with the log (when comparing to reading from GPS, and this is taking any current into account). My set does not provide any data-out for NMEA data, which is another downside.

Bottomline, I wouldn't recommend Clipper if you can afford something better!
