furuno wifi radar and i pad reception.

I have installed Furuno wifi radar 20 foot up mast and have old i pad2 almost underneath it in pilot house.

the signal repeatedly goes on and off on the i pad which can be inconvenient. I have moved i pad around but this does not help much.

perhaps a new i pad would help?

any suggestions.

Re: furuno wifi radar and i pad reception.

Older ipads tend to get a bit cluttered and full, with cookies, past browse history, and if a lot of files/photos/books/emails etc, they do slow down.
Try a full shut down, and restart.
Next step, try the delete browser history, you may need to find the delete cookies tickbox, somewhere in settings area.
Then try getting rid of things you may not need.
Let us know if it helps!

Re: furuno wifi radar and i pad reception.

We run that ran radar unit with an old iPad 2 and have no issues. The iPad is about three feet below and about two feet behind the dome and the signal remains strong. If you're immediately below it, it's possible there could be a weak or dead zone in the wifi's signal transmission. Try calling Furuno to ask about that possibility. Let us know what you find.
