I would not trust British charts for Brazilian ports. Digital versions of Brazilian charts are better and free...

These BA charts really don't have a lot of detail on the ports. They are mainly for coastal and offshore navigation and will lead you up to the port entrances.

Never hurts to have them and the price is right, although downloadable FREE ones are a good deal - if you like electronic charts.

I hate electronic charts....

I like paper charts a lot too... In fact I print the free Brazilian (raster) charts

For the River Plate and Parana river I would use the BA charts as a nice starting point for handmade corrections showing new wrecks in the River Plate and the latests "croquis" (sketch) of the Parana...
