Alberg 29

Hello All, Just wondering if anyone knows how many Alberg 29,s were built, where they were built and from what year. i like them. I sailed the South Pacific a few years back, out of sight of land for 16 days and am thinking about doing it again. I want a safe boat that points well and can take a blow. Fair winds to you this summer. Dustie.

Re: Alberg 29

The individual who makes Cape Horn windvanes, a French Canadian by the name of Eves has sailed around thw world on and spent many yeears living aboard an Alberg. He came and introduced himself to me a number of years back when he was stuck with a repair at my marina in NY and have the feeling he is a very giving and easy person to speak with. He even has a movie that was made of his sailing adventures in this boat.

"If you are serious" I don't think he would mind being contacted via email to see if he would be willing to discuss what he knows about these lovely boats.

pretty sure his name is Yves, but you got it right about him being a very giving and easy person to speak with, i inquired about the outboard bracket he built for jean-de-sud (his alberg 30) and he mailed me a cd of pictures from across the continent and did not even ask me to pay for shipping... now if he would just respond to my inquiry about how much he would charge to build me one of those brackets...

Re: Alberg 29

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Alberg 29 is a well designed boat as is the Columbia 29 designed by Sparkman and Stephens. Good luck in finding the right boat.
Check out the links behind my signature and the book recommendation.
kind regards,

Re: Alberg 29

I have created a Facebook page for Alberg 29 owners, so we can exchange pics, tricks, and help each other while we are working on our boats. See you there !
