Jamaica to Panama

Still looking for crew.
Leaving on the 15th of August.
I have been presented with an opportunity to get out of Jamaica to Panama. Another sailor with a 41' sailboat is leaving on the 15th of this month. I would leave at the same time as him. And we use each other for security and communication. We follow each other. He can do single handed but says that he will surely get the crew he needs. And he thinks he may be able to get crew for me. Hummm I wonder. If so then I go. I would prefer with 2 persons I would even go with one person.
I would need references.Duties-taking turns on watch, doing general upkeep and cleaning and repairs if things break, and enjoying the ride.I am on a 32' sailboat, Lloyd's certified with lots of safety equipment. I am using Chris Parker to guide me with weather, routing and advice. He is the guru of guiding boats in the Caribbean and is well respected by boaters for his advice including delivery captains.

If you have sailing knowledge then so much the better. However it is important to me as to your character and skills that you have. I would therefore need at least 2 references with phone #s of people who know you in general. They must be verifiable on the internet as to their phone #s, could be past employer(s), professional, such as accountant, prof., doctor, person of clergy, any religion including Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, etc...

Re: Jamaica to Panama

I just want to share this thought. I see you have been looking for help even before you were enroute to Jamaica. Your voyage sounds mutually rewarding like many of the opportunities posted here.

But maybe your expectations are worded a little harsh? I understand the need to connect with someone clean and somewhat trustworthy but you should probably keep in mind that you are looking for an unpaid volunteer to help you. And no matter what they have some kind of expense involved to join your voyage. I'm not sure it's reasonable to demand professional references, medical references, and to be highly critical of experience when it seems like you need help more than help needs you. Crew Available have many options here. Unfortunately, that's not always equally true for Crew Wanted. In any event I hope you find the help needed. Safe passages.
