Sailing Ft Lauderdale to Luperon, Dominican Republic

Leaving the end of April on 41ft Morgan Classic. Have read Van Sant's Passages South. Have Explorer Charts for Bahamas. Captain and first mate have blue water experience to Bermuda. 2 other crew( newbies). Plan is to Bimini, cross banks to Nassau, to Exumas, cut to open water down to Grand Turk then on to DR. Most on forum do this in fall and winter using cold fronts to move East or Southeast. With fronts decreasing this time of year, looking for thoughts on this route or other recommendations. Thanks.

Well...not really sure what you are looking for. Pilot charts tell the story for that time of year. Unless you plan on waiting for windows, you'll be looking at a close reach most of the time, and fighting a current (lesser or greater) much of the time, although there is significant potential for a beam reach as well. Other than that there's no issue with your plan, it's a nice trip and plenty of places to duck into if need be. Have fun! Pete

Pete,
Thank you. The Pilot Charts give me what I was looking for.
