Need a sheave for Catalina 30 1978 tall rig

Anyone know where in Portland, OR I can get a sheave for my C30 tall rig? Don't want to send away for it...having it rigged now and hoping to find a sheave quickly! thanks

I'm certain you've already called the chandlery at Schooner Creek and all the other yards around. If you know the specifics there are lots of bearing shops that may also handle it. Specialty hardware stores sometimes have such things in stock in stainless or aluminum. I would imagine its for your masthead fitting or a boom end?

You might even call Catalina to see if they might know a rigger in Portland that might that may have some extra parts and pieces.

Sorry I can't be of specific help but I've had really good luck with Maquire Bearing for such things.

Hi John, those are good leads thanks very much! I think my rigger has tried Schooner but I'll double-check. Best wishes, Sam

I would think that either the Catalina factory or the owner's group could tell you the diameter of the sheave and the pin size. Then it should be easy to source a replacement from a chandlery, or if it is just the bushing that is shot, buy a new bushing and press it into place.

I'm surprised that this is being a big issue!
