Texas Boat on the Loose !

Hello cruisers:

My beautiful bride and I have lived on our Island Packet 40 for almost three years now an have cruised from Port Isabel, Texas to Miami several times as well as the Bahamas once. Currently we are waiting the season out in Oriental, NC.

We will be heading South in mid September out of Beaufort, NC and may try to buddy boat this time. Where should we post that request for Southbounders?

Regards

Re: Texas boat on the loose!

Howdy, it's Erika from Waterford ( cd30 now PS34) I'd maybe post in the destination section? Or title your thead "southbound, looking for buddy boat from oriental NC" lots of folks ride out hurricane season where you are at. I just wrote your bride about pointers for staying around oriental. Hope to see you guys out there ( again) .
Cheers,
Erika

My wife and I are planning to move our Tayana-37(5' 10" draft) from the Cheaspeake this coming spring where the boat has spent most of it's life to the Pamlico sound area and we're thinking Oriental might be a good place to keep it. Any input would be appreciated. I lived aboard for a number of years and really enjoyed sailing the Cheaspeake, but now I live on the land and will be located in the mountains of NC(about a 4 hour drive from the boat) so it's important to be in a good marina.

If you're in Oriental, just hang it off the bow/stern! The traffic heading N/S is pretty impressive. Or do the same in Beaufort.
