Quicksilver HP Gear Lube SAE90 - Where to buy in Australia

I have a SD50 Saildrive which this oil is recommended for, but I can't seem to find anyone in Australia that sells it.

Anyone know where to get it?

Thanks in Advance

Have you tried Mercury HP Gear Lube SAE90? https://www.huntsmarine.com.au/produ...n-92-858064k01

According to Quicksilver, it should be the same product
https://www.quicksilver-products.com/about-page/

and
https://www.fishpond.com.au/Lifestyl.../0745061964402

Also the Fishpond site is a tad overpriced - I can get from the States for a fraction of that cost if need be.

From another site:

Ok, here's some interesting results. It is now evident that quick silver and mercury stern drive oils are different in make up. Here are the virgin samples of each.
code: Quick Silver Mercury
Mo 33 60
Phos 1181 516
Zinc 17 14
Mag 0 1
Calc 31 55
Si 36 0
Visc Cst 15.10 14.51
SAE 90 90

The HP gear lube is a different lube, it’s required I believe in the Verado outboard.
I used to order mine through the Verado club, but I think it’s a pay site, have to pay to be a member

Please be aware of the following discussion related to gear oil for SD50: Yanmar SD40 & SD50 "slipping" Saildrive Upgrade
Because of this I have now started to use only GL-4 rated gear oil in my SD50.

Yes I read that, hence me looking for this particular oil - Which is also the current oil in the drive as well

Is anyone sure Quicksilver is just not a hook to get people to buy the Mercury product. OMC use to do the same thing. Seems to me SAE90 is SAE90?

I've used Mercury and Quicksilver interchangeably for decades on Mercruiser engines and outdrives.

"Quicksilver is the premier supplier of Mercury Marine Original Equipment replacement parts and accessories."

It has been my understanding for many years that Mercury oil and lubes are merely OEM branded Quicksilver products anyway. Every Merc mechanic I've known for years has used Mercury and Quicksilver oils and lubes interchangeably.

It was OMC, Johnson and Evinrude. The point was is it any different than a good grade 90 weight hypoid?

. Yes cadence, good point. I doubt very much that Mercury make their own oil. I would just buy EP90 gear oil of the same API classification & save myself a few $ but if it makes you happy to have a mercury sticker on the bottle knock yourself out

whoops forgot to add it needs to be GL4 according to http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...-192693-2.html.
I'm sure you can find GL4 Sae 90 gear oil at Supercheap or Ripco
