Pacific Seacraft 31 - Wind Chimes

Wind Chimes is a 1989 PSC in very good condition. The Crealock designs are ageless and this one is well documented on the web. She is sloop rigged with a furling genoa and full batten main with lazy jacks.
She features AC/Heat (2014), new canvas inc. dodger, bimini, connector, issenglass with covers, bottom stripped and freshened with 4 coats Interprotect (2011, no blisters), VHF (2012), Sony stereo (2011), well serviced Yanmar 3GM30 with 2000 hours, Autohelm 4000, Furno GPS on swivel in companion way, Data Marine Link needing some attention, substantial ground tackle (25, 35 CQR, Fortress lunch hook aft), manual windlass on foredeck.
I have spend a fair amount of time on varnish, but there is still more fun to be had! A combination of wood treatments includes Cetol, Simco and Captains. The Simco is because I'm a bit lazy and still have a regular job. (on the toe rail).
There is a survey from my purchase in 2009 that I can email if you are interested. I know that is six years ago, but in general she has been improved since her purchase.
She does need the Datamarine sorted out ( I know the spiders got to the wind speed sensor, but it picks up with a good breeze. The bottom paint on the depth transducer didn't do any good, but there may be more to it...)
There is damage to a spot on the toe rail where a dock cleat got to her and she needs two new butterflies and a couple of new bungs as well. I hope to get that completed soon.
With window screens all around and screens for the forward hatch and companionway she is comfortable when it gets buggy, but I do have the screens out to repair/replace a couple that got ripped.
I am asking $ 62,500. OBO As a two boat owner I will accept the best reasonable offer.
Wind Chimes is afloat and sailing out of Bohemia Vista Marina, Slip A7, Chesapeake City, MD. Please contact me for a closer look or to obtain additional photos and documentation. Thanks, Rob

Nice! PSC make the best boats, and I'm not even biased. Much.

Re: Pacific Seacraft 31 - Wind Chimes

Actually forgot to put the price in on round one. It was round two actually, because I tried to post and add the pictures later but got caught! My bad...

31 is sort of big sister to the 27 Orion. When I was on the down sizing mode it was at the top of my list. Now I have two 31s. Found a 'fixer-upper' with the scheel keel, which got me excited about island travel and ignoring low tide!

Essentially BO over $60 is my mind set as I'm closing in on retirement and don't want to carry the extra debt...

thanks for your comments!
Good sailing this weekend!!!

I always thought of the 31 as the big sister to the Dana 24, same open concept cabin, Crealock design, as opposed to the more traditional Morschadt Orion 27/Mariah 31. I don't see you having any problem selling her.

Best of luck, (free bump!)

I have seen an Orion listed in Portland, OR on a trailor. Have you ever heard of a 31 being trailerable? Is the mast deck stepped?

Re: Pacific Seacraft 31 - Wind Chimes

Thanks for the nice comments from diverse locations. Nice sail on the Bay with some raw recruits today! Beautiful early fall weather. Boat was so happy to be out.

Wouldn't imagine trailering this one. Normal restrictions are about 8 foot beam I believe. The mast is deck stepped and a good rigger could certainly carry it.

There is an Orion in the Annapolis area for sale on it's trailer. It's a big load but Goat could address that one. It was tempting.

Canyonbat - I have a Contest 31 on a custom trailer, it will likely need a boat lift to launch it though.

Re: Pacific Seacraft 31 - Wind Chimes

Hopefully I will be able to attach my original 2009 survey for anyone interested. It's in two parts.
I have taken care of 'most' of the items. I expect there are some other things that could be corrected or improved. It is a sailboat after all. But a very nice one!
thanks for looking,
Rob

Re: Pacific Seacraft 31 - Wind Chimes

So Wind Chimes will probably get hauled next week. If you'd like to come sail and inspect there's just one weekend left.
I stuck her on Craigs List at $59K to try to move the process along. She is a very nice boat and will make someone happy!

Best regards,
Rob

If I had 60k or good enough credit I'd be there Saturday morning to get her, beautiful boat.
