42 foot Blue Water full keel Custom Ketch ready to sail

42 foot Blue Water full keel Custom Ketch ready to sail
$45,000 OBO
at the dock IGY Marina Rodney Bay St. Lucia
( 5 hour direct flight from JFK )

Quote from 2014 survey:

“FAIR MARKET VALUE $90,000.00 US DOLLARS”
“The valuation given above reflects the high quality components and work that has gone into the vessel as surveyed. Due to the rather esoteric nature of this vessel, it will have limited appeal to most people due to its rather commercial appearance both inside and out. However this well built vessel will be almost certain to outlast just about any high production built vessel of this era whilst providing a comfortable living platform that is easy to maintain as a result of ease of access to just about everything aboard.”

What is hull construction? Built by who? Where? Year of build?

Re: 42 foot Blue Water full keel Custom Ketch ready to sail

Built in 1975 by Sam Geiger of Geiger Boatworks in Connecticut out of fiberglass.
I purchased the boat in 1997 and totally re-fit it.
I can send two recent surveys, one from 2008 from Mystic Ct before we relaunched and another one done in 2014 in the water here in St. Lucia for insurance purposes. Same surveyor just did the out of water survey of the hull a few weeks ago when we were on the hard to have the bottom painted.
Just send an email address and I'll send the 3 pdf docs. Thanks, Marcia and John Fyfe

Our circumstances dictate that we return to the States ASAP so we are willing to consider any offers.

Re: 42 foot Blue Water full keel Custom Ketch ready to sail

That is one hell of a boat!

Unusual to see hard chines on a FRP hull...at first glance it looked like steel.

I'm still waiting for my kids to launch...otherwise I would pounce on this well equipped beauty.

I'm going to guess that the circumstances that require the rapid sale of your boat are not happy ones. Actually, reading your words carefully, I'd guess that something terrible has happened. To that I would like to express my concern and support. And it is also a life lesson to all of us...Sail now, while you can. Your life can change in a heartbeat.

Re: 42 foot Blue Water full keel Custom Ketch ready to sail

Thank you for the kind words. You sound like just the kind of person we would like to have our boat. We do want her to go to a good home.
She is ruggedly built, seaworthy & sea-kindly, a joy to sail!

She just came out of the boatyard for bottom paint & survey. Paint lasts 2 years here in the Caribbean and anchoring in the Rodney Bay in 20 feet of clear, protected water is FREE! That means ZERO maintenance cost for at least 2 years.
You can fly to St. Lucia from JFK direct in 5 hours.
The people on this island are wonderful..and they speak English. Great services and shopping easily available...and a friendly Cruisers community with people from all over the world.

Re: 42 foot Blue Water full keel Custom Ketch ready to sail

PRICE REDUCED! $40,000 OBO
Push is coming to shove. We have one month to sell our boat. If it does not sell we are going to donate this wonderful vessel to our friend Captain Ray Thackeray
Executive Director
International Rescue Group
We have spent many hours with him on board this boat and he knows it well.
He is delighted with our offer to donate it to his small disaster relief organisation that does great work here in the Caribbean.
(International Rescue Group - Coastal disaster relief)

This being said however we would be very happy to have an adventurer or and adventurous couple take over where we are leaving off.

Here is a chance for someone to get a big, comfortable, blue water boat for a great price.

We found a hull that we loved and then proceeded to put a lot of money into it.
For instance: Completely re-wired to accommodate all the new equipment $35,000
Electronics $25,000
Anodised masts, completely new rigging, boom-furling main and mizzen
New sails UK Halsey $45,000
New Yanmar engine, new Fischer Panda generator $40,000
All in tip-top shape and that's just the beginning.
Rights of Man is a ruggedly built, seaworthy, and sea kindly boat ready for new adventurers.

This is the truth. These are not alternate "facts". This is the real deal. You don't have to put any money into it. It's ready to go.
Someone is going to get a great boat for pennies on the dollar.

Make your offer. Get your $500 ticket and fly to to St. Lucia in 5 hours from JFK.
Sail it away.

She's perfect for that. We have been comfortably retired on her for the last 10 years.

I didn't see any mention of beam, draft, or number of berths or cabins.
