New Zealand tide files

Is there any source to download .tcd or.idx files for New Zealand ports from, please? The world harmonics seem to only have limited NZ locations in them, certainly a lot less than Metservice, LINZ or other software have. Is there anything better out there to import into OpenCPN, please?

Thanks
Kara

Re: New Zealand tide files

Cheers, I am aware of these, and also have tide predictions in other software - but how do I get to use this with OpenCPN, please? Is here a way to convert the .cvs in a format that OpenCPN can read?

Send me a private message:- pierdube@videotron.ca

I will prepare the file for stations in New Zealand.

Further more you should not give it to anyone.

Re: New Zealand tide files

Hi Pierre,
it's not that I wasn't interested - only none of the files you kindly provided appeared to have new information when loaded. A text search in the files also only came up with the main NZ harbours, which already come with the world harmonics. As per my original post, I was after files for the minor ports. I am still interested in a file that has the minor NZ ports and NZ currents, if this is available.

Cheers!

Re: New Zealand tide files

You can get more ports from the .tcd file in WXTide32.
Install WXTide32.
In OpenCPN, go into Options/Charts/Tides and Currents/Add Dataset and point to the "harmonics-2004-06-14.tcd" file in WXTIDE32, this is usually in: C:\Program Files\WXTide32\harmonics-2004-06-14.tcd

Re: New Zealand tide files

Thanks, but this is unfortunately Windows software - I am on a Linux machine.
Could you generate the files and post them here?

Re: New Zealand tide files

If you go to the WXTide32.com, download the Windows manual install version wxtide47m.zip, unzip the file and the "harmonics-2004-06-14.tcd" file you need is contained within.

Kara, the files covers all available good data, the rest have too few data for being reliable. Do not give it to nobody, please.
bye
