Cal 39 MKII--MKIII displacement

The displacement of a Cal 39 MKII is llisted as 17000 lbs. The displacement of the MKIII is 19000. I believe it is the same hull, and same keel. I believe the main difference in the models is in the cabin layout. Anyone know where the extra 2000 lbs comes from? And, if it is the same hull, is it reasonable to conclude that the payload capacity will be about 2000 lbs less in the MKIII?
