Living aboard a cruiser

Hello everybody,
We are new to this forum and we have a question that has probably been asked before.
We currently have a 35ft cruiser, a Chaparral 350 signature. And we love it.
But we may have the opportunity to move to Florida east coast and the temptation to move to a bigger boat and liveaboard is now in our mind.
Because of personal taste in design we are definitely looking at cruisers and the 45 to 52 ft range.
What are your thoughts and experiences?
And here are our favorites candidates;
- 2013 Cantius 45
- 2015 Beneteau 49GT
- Sunseeker Camargue
- Azimut 43/47S
- Regal 52 Coupe

Before you make that jump have you looked at the availability and prices of marinas in southeast florida. it can get quite expensive. and liveaboard marinas are getting harder and harder to find.

Have you looked at flybridge boats? Major subsets would include sportfish (often aka convertible) or sedan bridge, or motor yacht (the aft cabin idea). Would think that'd offer more interior and exterior space for liveaboard use than the express types you've mentioned. (I think those are all express boats?)

FWIW, we find an enclosed saloon to be useful; mitigates the "living in a cave" feeling, when weather forces us indoors...

For me bigger is always better. You can get a level of comfort and safety not available on small boats. A main deck cabin with lots of glass lets me enjoy the environment without being part of it. Dockage can be a problem, though.
