Mast Gate for Pearson 30

Firstly, my apologies for the repetitive posts. I'm having problems with the photo upload.

Moving on-I am looking for a replacement part for the hinged "mast gate" where the plastic 5/8 in. sail sliders feed into the groove in the mast. This is an aluminum mast, and the gate is 1 3/4 by 2 3/4" on a Pearson 30.

I do hope that the photo is correctly attached.

Thank you for any suggestions on where to locate this part. Meanwhile, I am
searching Pearson owners websites.

Did you replace this? I am looking for the exact same mast gate for a Peason 323.

Re: Mast Gate for Pearson 30

What does the whole mechanism look like? Anyone have a pic of one intact?

Bottom line would make one. It appears to be aluminum. Would get a big chunk of aluminum or a hard plastic (delrin) an cut it to fit the hinge etc. if you want it to work similar to original.

Or you could make a different one where it is a plate w/a tab cut to fit into the mast track to stop the slugs from falling out. Did this on a older Irwin and held it in place w/machine screws tapped into mast. In most cases you remove it to put on/remove the sail a couple of times a year, so not big deal to get out the screw driver to remove the plate.
