Re: small sailboat, inland US/coastal Tenn-Tom Southbound

flexible would like to start mid-February there about, early spring.

share cost if possible or some %. I take it slow 3knts so motor in Tenn -Tom gets about 11 miles per gallon so a day run of 15 -18 miles is 1.5 gallons.

I anchor out as much as possible but marinas occasionally for water, fuel, pump out head and groceries. some sharing preferred but not absolutely necessary. depends on what you like to eat. I'm pretty much veg, spam, beans, potatoes, oatmeal, peanut butter type and I like to catch catfish overnight when anchored. in the gulf also I fish and sail mostly.

i am flexible on these depends on which ones and how often if you want to marina more often than necessary then you should share cost,

if we only marina etc as necessary then i could do take care of that. I don't plain on living in a marina in Key West or Miami.

Don’t know exactly where you are starting from but mid February could mean some mighty cold cruising. And early spring/ spring can be treacherous on the Tenn- Tom due to high water and flooding. Just a thought.

I have a lot of experience on a Catalina 25 as I own one. That being said I would like to sail and gain some experience with the way someone else sails. Always looking to sharpen my game. I am retired and not as young as I once was. I move a little slower but the water always moves me. I have gone up and down the Arkansas River through the locks and have that as something I can bring to the table.

We brought our Morgan 30 down the Tenn-Tom in late March/April and the flooding was definitely something to worry about. No issues before that on timing though. The river trip down was awesome though. We took time to explore and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Safe travels. Great trip. Did that many years ago from Huntsville to mobile and the gulf. Locks are awesome especially Wilson. Plenty areas to anchor. Suggest obtaining updated cruising guide for places to anchor and marinas. Met some of the nicest folks when we did dock for the night. Suggest bringing a backup vhf for lock and tug communications.
