Queensland - New Caledonia on cyclon season

Hi, we are discussing the possibility to sail from Fraser Island to New Caledonia on January. Has anyone done it? Is it too dangerous considering cyclons?

Well date wise end of Jan is peak time for cyclones so I suspect nobody could recommend it.
