Leaving sailboat in Indonesia unattended?

Hi, we plan to sail from Fiji in a couple of weeks to Vanuatu, Solomon islands, PNG and will have to leave the boat unattended for at least 6 months or preferably longer and fly to the US.

Is there a place near Jayapura with a haul out facility? If not, what would the closest place be?

Guessing, I would suggest Marina at Bali. I believe there are some private moorings adjacent area.

Bound to be something near where you are heading but ...

I am not sure the CAIT allowes it, or if it does, for how long.
Indonesian rules are very, very tricky.
Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand are very close and much more accomodating.

I agree with MarkJ Indonesian rules are very hard to work out and they dont have many conventional haul out facilities .Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand would be a better option .

Not sure whether you would consider an in water berth, but Port Moresby may be a possibility. We lived aboard for a couple of years up until 2010 and cruisers regularly sat out the cyclone season in POM. The facilities were great, excellent security and easy access to the international airport with connections to Australia, Singapore, hong Kong and Japan.
