UK Hunters (272)

As we sold our VdS and this year want to re-locate from Brazil to Alanya - Turkey i am looking for a smaller sailboat to play a little around in Antalya. My eye fall on a Hunter 272 for sale in the UK. As i don't know these Hunters, i looked around on UK forums what they have to say about them. Happely supprised, its almost only positive and as a dutchman i know the Nothsea.

Are the UK offered Hunters different from the the US ones, also because many of the offered are bilge keelers.

Totally superior to and nothing whatsoever to do with the American Hunters.

Re: UK Hunters (272)

Its a totally different company, they are not related. At least, its very different types of boats, I have been aboard both UK ones, and USA ones, admittedly havent been on a UK one since the late seventies, when I was at school, and had a Saturday job for a broker, washing them, then they had the Europa, Sonata, Impala, some other ones, they were all fixed keel, the American hunters I was on, had water ballast systems, and had no where near the build quality, but that quality could have changed a lot since the seventies. The british ones, the windows don't open, and the decks are bonded onto the hull, and they were used a lot for racing, don't know anything about them today, but two different companies, and very different designs.

Re: UK Hunters (272)

Thanks for the info, this confirms the impression i got from reading UK forums about these little boats. As they are price worthy for sale in the UK, and i like the open plan interior (completely different from my VdS) these Hunters might be exactly what i try to find as a day sailer in Alanya.
