I am hoping for a recommendation for a rigger somewhere between Brunswick GA and somewhere in North
Florida.
I am headed southbound in my Benneteau 36CC and in the blow yesterday the topping
lift I use as a
halyard for the
anchor sail frayed and broke at the masthead. It is a new topping
lift so seems there is something amiss with the sheave
wheel perhaps. Maybe next one should be bigger / stronger ?
Anyway -
inspection is needed and a new lift installed.
Yes - I know I should shimmy up the
mast myself and check first to be sure but it is still blowing 20kt at
anchor and I am singlehanded so I really don't want to
BTW, anchor sail has diminished the boat's skating ability - now only a 40 degree swing instead of the previous 120 swing at anchor. much less aggravation to the anchor and to my comfort.
So any
advice is appreciated
Much thanks
Steve
