New Member from Texas

Hello all,

I have been stocking this forum for years and thought it was past time to join. I have sailed for about 20 years and owned saiboats from 18-45ft. I just bought a 1980 Islander 36 which is in just great shape as it has spent most of its life floating in fresh water. My plan is to retire in 8 years and go cruising. Although I have owned and sailed boats for many years almost all of that time has been on small lakes where about 1 hr in any direction and I have to turn around. That means I know enough to know I don't know enough and plan to try and find a way to get some blue water time in the next few years. Any advice would be a great help, thanks Chris.

Yes Gord I am the one! In fact I have binders of pages from here over diff topics all the way back to 2000. I have wanted to joing but never felt like I was knowledgeable enough to be of much help to most. However I have been working towards cruising for years and do love to read this forum.
