American invasion of Canada rehearsal

Let's review the spectacular doings on the Detroit River last summer. A flotilla of rafters were 'blown' across the river into Canada. Unknown to the Canadians was, this was a rehearsal for the refugee crisis that Canada will experience on Nov 8th. Once Mericans wake up to the reality of the past election there will be no doubt anyone with half a lick of sense will relaunch their boats and a flotilla of displaced persons will be flocking over the border. This will be an invasion the likes of which would make the Spanish Armada jealous. Yes indeed there will be Americans everywhere seeking asylum from the asylum. Get ready my Canadian neighbors for a whole lot more folks singing O' Canada. Don't worry if the lakes freeze we'll use iceboats or dogsleds. I love a good conspiracy theory.

It’s OK 30yearslater, we’ve been a refuge for Americans before and we can do it again now. Come on in my American friends, the waters may be a bit chillier up here, but the politics ain’t nearly as crazy.

Thanks Mike. That post is about as political as I get. I thought some good cross border humor was in order. After the rafting fiasco on the Detroit River and the CBSA response about, "There were Americans everywhere," I couldn't resist a bit of neighborly kidding. We have got to hook up before you head out the St. Lawrence for a good laugh and a fine Canadian libation.

Yes indeed. Had coffee with 2 lovely American expats today. Coming over in rafts at this time of year could be a tough undertaking, eh. And don't let Kenomac scare you. He only doesn't like political or environmental discussions that he doesn't start.

Re: American invasion of Canada rehearsal

Let's quickly invest in the concrete/cement industry, chances for another wall arising here :-)

New walls are very popular everywhere these days, from Hungary to the Mexican border from there to the Canadian.

I love the wording of "Mericans" mirrors well what some blonde bloke further south plans...

Let's hope he does not get to do this....

Yes, it’s all in fun folk (even the Kens of this CF world ). I thought it was kinda cute how our CBSA and RCMP treated the whole thing … as an annoyance, but without wigging out.

U.S. partiers wash up in Canada, blown across St. Clair River

So come on over my American friends. I’d love to raise a pint (or two, or three…) with 30yearslater, or anyone else. But it has to be real pint, and it also has to be real beer, not that bubbly water laughingly called beer by Bud or Coors or indeed most of the stuff put out by our major Canadian breweries (which aren’t actually Canadian anyway…)

Cheers
