Mooring Locations in Texas?

Hey guys,

I'm in rockport texas and have been struggling to find a mooring line for rent I can anchor up too. Does anybody have any experience in this area? They have multiple marinas here but i'm looking specifically for a moor line thats cheap. I've been researching and talking to companies from here to corpus christi and can't get a direct answer. It's almost like no one knows here.

Thanks guys

Re: Mooring Locations in Texas?

Moorings are quite rare in Texas. Semi permanent anchoring is also quite rare. I see it some in the inland areas of the coast but I can count on the fingers of one hand the times I've come across it. In Texas, areas deep enough for a sailboat tend to also be exposed which is why marinas are poplar here.

Re: Mooring Locations in Texas?

The only boats I've seen moored in Texas were two boats moored off the Yacht club in Lake Travis.

A quick look on Google, shows one boat moored in Dickenson Bay, and he's probably just fishing.

You'll find lower cost marinas in Port Lavaca.

Good luck.

Thankyou for the reply apparently Texas doesn't have mooring on their shores.
