do you need a passport stamp when leaving panama?

We just crossd the canal To pacific and will be sailing to galapagos in 3 weeks. We already have the zarpe for galapagos but we didnt do imigration as we are still missing one crew (i made sure the missing crew is mentiond in the zarpe and that is all fine).
The agent who arranged our canal crossing told me that you dont need a exit stump from panama, entry stump is enough. and we wont be able to make imigration couse our zarpe will be overdue. I have not full feith in what he seys and therefor im asking here.

I/we just sailed with the Zarpe when I left.. however first stop was Nuku Hiva in the Marquesas and to be honest all they were interested in was the nationality our passports.. once confirmed as EU it was come back on Monday we close in 15minutes (it was a Friday) you can come and go ashore with no problems.
