Pump out in Abaco?

Are there any pump out services in Abaco? In looking at Active Captain I'm either finding no services or no mention of it.

Re: Pump out in Abaco?

The only place I know to pump out is Hope Town Inn & Marina. They have a portable pumpout they can take to a slip.

You're not in Kansas anymore, Toto. There's a reason they don't have pumpouts. Can you guess why?

Google, " Abaco Beach Resort" in Marsh Harbor, they have a marina with a pump out service available.

Re: Pump out in Abaco?

Having a pump out and having a working pump out are two entirely different tings around here!

Re: Pump out in Abaco?

I knew pump outs wouldn't be the norm, but I was hoping there might be one every now and then. My boat's plumbing only goes to the holding tank. I'm going to have to make some adjustments before our trip.

We use our holding tank while in harbors and release the tank near a cut on an outgoing tide.

Re: Pump out in Abaco?

My wife and I spent three months in the Bahamas a couple years ago and found whenever we had to pump out a holding tank would have to take a cruise . We're going back this spring and the best way to avoid that whole problem is we had to retrofit a boat with a lectra San by Raratan. We just installed it and it seems to work very well. But you need good batteries.

Re: Pump out in Abaco?

I appreciate your reply. I have since completely redone my boat's plumbing and I now have the option of a macerator for pumping out my tank. I should be good to go now.
