Caribbean customs with bill of sale

I am a Canadian and purchased a sailboat in Martinique. All the paperwork has been sent to Transport Canada but they take 4 months to produce my new registration. In the meantime I have a copy of the current boat registration from Transport Canada's website and a bill of sale from the broker. Will that keep the customs officers happy in the eastern Caribbean?

Yes, it will. I had a long period where the boat I'd bought from Sunsail didn't have my new registration (because Sunsail took several months to get the paperwork finished) and I used the temporary registration. That worked for the USVI, Dutch St. Martin, St. Kitts, Antigua, and Dominica. The French islands are even easier to clear into and out of as they never look at the paperwork.
