Crowther Buccaneer Crossbeams

Hey All,
I have been looking into purchasing a 35 ft Crowther Buccaneer, but I have some concerns. The owner cut the cross beams to transport the boat, and I fear for the worst. I have heard of Crowther tris that have detachable floats, but I can't find much info on it. Do any of you have any advice for remounting the am as, I am not knowledgeable enough to do it myself.
Thanks

Re: Crowther Buccaneer Crossbeams

I assume you are looking at the local boat in Port Orchard. I had a Buc but it had solid laminated wood/epoxy beams. I sold mine and now it's up in Port Townsend.

I noticed the beams on the ad and was wondering if they plug into sockets in the main hull or if they were supposed to be continuous. Either way aluminum is not that expensive and you can get some new ones for a decent price. I can go take a look at it with you if you buy lunch and beers.

The guy that bought my boat broke his leg so I'm not sure if he's been out on the boat much. If you are interested I can put you in touch to see if he wants to sell but it will cost closer to $30K. It's solid and not one soft spot with lots of goodies..

The boat I was looking at was closer to Poulsbo, but perhaps the same boat. I would definitely treat you to a meal and some drinks if you had time to look at the boat and educate me. I don't know how to send a private message, but if you contact me we can exchange info

PM sent. It is the boat in Poulsbo, I got my Ps mixed up. Just click on any screen name and it will open up options including send a private message.

Bubba (neener, neener, Albert is my nephew so he gets special abuse rights from me), I'm still awaiting the photos of the crossarm details. [emoji5]

Oops, not nephew, cousin's son (2nd cousin?). Anyway, I reserve the right to tease him. He's a serious candidate for a PNW Multihull.

Re: Crowther Buccaneer Crossbeams

Very good, you are the first person in 9yr to get that.

I considered SWYC when I was looking for a place to park my boat and find other sailors to hang out with.

If you ever want to go for a spin on Mission Bay without having to bring your own watersteed around Pt Loma, let me know.

I'm being transported into the Wayback Machine. I lived 6 years in Pacific Beach. Mission Bay was my hangout.
