Azores then south to warmth

Looking to head out from halifax over next month and bit to the warmer climes, plan is to head towards Azores and then somewhat gran canaria and back . It's a 38ft Nicholson that will be new to me, so possible shakedown as well. Just looking for added info on route as having hard time finding history on the route around this time frame. Thanks for info

Re: Azores then south to warmth

Check for hurricanes coming up and deep lows if there's a dip in the polar jet, then go. I did St Pierre to Faial in late September 2014, good trip with two days of headwinds due to a frontal passage. However, it's late in the year so don't longer too long in the Azores. I left Terciera on the last day of November heading for Madeira with a marginal forecast that deteriorated enroute. It got a little breezy...
