ScottishBrazilian in Texas

Hello everyone!
I just moved to Houston Tx from Brazil! I used to surf a lot back home...but with the lack of it in texas I needed to urgently get back into the water!lol So I am officially taking up sailing (Ive done many trips with my dad and competed in some regattas).

What ASA courses should I take in order to be fully qualified to sail to up to 100 miles offshore?

Im also looking to getting a sailboat (28-36ft)! any recommendations? (price up to max 45k)

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Just give the ASA folks a call and ask. They'll let you know. You can also call a charter company to see what they require.
If you have your own boat you don't need the qualifications but I'd recommend you take a cours or two just so you are safe.
