Beneteau round-mast protection bars + hand grips wanted

Hi Guys,

First - tried to place this thread into the "beneteau" part of the forum, but I don't seem to be capable ?

Anyway, I'm looking for protection bars around the mast and hand grips as shown in below picture. Anyone an idea where I could order these ? (Preferably Europe) They look pretty standard to me, coulden't find them on beneteau spare parts website though...

Oh yea, anybody any idea why the grip around the fwd hath ("1" on below picture) should be installed - can't hardly see the purpose of this ?

Thanks guys

Safc

PS didn't find my 411 yet - but closing in :-)

The easy answer for the forward hatches is to keep the sheets from catching on the hatches. The mast pulpit rail can be readily fabricated at a good weld shop. Takes a crowner, Diacro type bender and welding.

If you were here...

That style is very constraining and can interfere with setting the spinnaker or whisker pole. Better to have separate bars on each side of the mast. Railmakers is one who specializes in this fabrication, if you don't have a local marine metal fabricator.

This Beneteau sports a pair of my design.

Sometimes it's nice to have grab rails near hatches so that there's something on deck for weaker folks to hang onto during ingress & egress. Another use is to use them to support either hatch covers, wind scoops, & or, to protect either. And of course grab bars just outside of hatches make great spots to tie things to when you're going in & out of hatches, when you need both hands free in order to do so. Such as sails, sail ties, lines, etc.

Hi all,

Thanks for the reactions. I really thought these bars would be readily available from certain yards. The "feet" positions are even indicated on every beneteau 411...

I'll post here if i do manage to find an address who delivers these bars in Europe.

Brgds

If you are looking for a stock Beneteau part, why haven't you contacted Beneteau?

I'd say go custom, and then you can tailor it to exactly what you want
