Trimaran Lift

Interesting lift of a tri today by a crane here at Linton Bay Marina, Panamá. It was too wide to fit in the travel lift.

I shot a time lapse video of it. The set up and tear down took WAY longer than the lift itself so I snipped those bits off.

Re: Trimaran Lift

That's exactly how my Dragonfly is designed to be lifted by a crane.
I have the four leg S.S. harness hanging in my garage.
Each aka stub has a through bolt with an eye on it for the purpose.
Folded, we can fit in an average travel lift, so instead of straps, we use shackles to those eyes.

A single hook from a crane with the harness can lift our boat with or without the mast.

Re: Trimaran Lift

Folding or removable amas would have simplified this lift, but these are fixed. In fact the travel lift could have hoisted them then.

A nearly full day for a 100ton crane must have been painfully expensive...and they get to do it again. Time was longer for the crane because it first had to lift them out, then reposition and lift a couple more times to get them into their final spot in the yard. Ouch.

Its not like its a small travel lift...my boat has a 23' beam and it is drawfed by the lift.
