We are looking to replace our bright and colourful, aging and circumnavigating Tinker
dinghy and fear we will have to buy one of those grey dingy ones that are however mostly better designed.
We need to be able to carry it on our
cabin top and as seeing out from our pilothouse would also be nice when underway or at
anchor we are looking for a model that has a foldable transom so that after deflating it will lie mostly flat. Light weight and rowing ability are also important to us. Our bright red Tinker is 12 ft long, rows very well with full sized oars, is 12 ft long making it easy to tip on board over GAIA's solid
lifelines and weighs only 70 lbs. It also
leaks water and air and looks its age 😐
Suggestions? Including non inflatables although we are not impressed with the
work required to assemble say the Portabote types.
As we contemplate selling our beloved Gazelle we would prefer to leave the choice up to the eventual owners but fear an earlier demise. Besides wet feet are a pain.
