Check with the insurance company before you start selling parts off the boat.
They want as much of the boat as possible so they can sell it all at once.
You sure do not want the broken hull. You will have to pay to have it disposed properly.

I know, from a sad experience
The insurance company even wanted the life ring until I told them, it had rotted away.

Hi Harold,

The cables are not included as they were damaged in the collision that destroyed my boat. They are not expensive, and you can get them directly from Garmin's website. Basically you get the radome itself. I'll get some pictures for you of the radome. Not sure about shipping, will need to weigh the unit to get an estimate.

Except...OP stated he is getting screwed by other guy's insurance. If so, and there were no legal document preventing me from doing so, I think Id strip it too and tell them to pound sand.

David, What terrible news for you.

I am interested in your Lewmar 48 3-speed winch, pair $700.00

I'll send a PM with contact info.

My questions will be the usual; age, condition, service record if any.

Thank you, and best wishes.

Bill

They are black anodized drums, a little faded from normal age-related wear. Functionally they are fine, I rebuilt them recently with new springs and pawls as I was planning to install them on my boat. Sadly that won't happen...

Possibly interested in the Icon M802.

Is this a complete kit with cables, mounting hardware, ferrites, etc? Any chance it's the Dockside Radio kit?

It does have all the cables and mounting hardware, at least what comes standard from Icom. It's not the Dockside Radio kit.

Re: Boat totaled, selling off lots of equipment

Hi David,

I'm so sorry for your loss and the insurance company (and other owner?) hassles. I am interested in the auto-pilot set up. I'm refitting an old 1976 Irwin 42 CC Ketch. She's got currently just got mechanical steering, and while I will do more investigating on my end...Do you know if it your set up comes with "everything" I would need for setting up on my boat. Put another way did your boat have mechanical steering? I do have a new Garmin chartplotter ,etc. I am in New Hampshire but am planning a trip to your area in the next few weeks, if shipping is an issue! Thanks and best of luck with the whole proces! Neil

Re: Boat totaled, selling off lots of equipment

Here are pictures of the watermaker, as many have asked about it. The unit was originally a 110VDC unit. I removed it from my boat not long after I bought it, and took it to Village Marine in Fort Lauderdale, where they serviced it and converted it to 12VDC by replacing the motor that drives the HP pump, and the boost pump. They recommended that, even though it had two membrane pressure vessels, that one was much more effective and easier to maintain, the second adding very little throughput. The unit is now set up for a single membrane, though I'm including the second pressure vessel if you want to use it. I'm also including a bunch of filters.

I do not know the age of the unit, though Village Marine said that the HP pump was in excellent condition, and now it has a brand new motor, and a new boost pump.
