Separating waste tank from head.

Hi ,
I am a new member, daysailing in Hungary at Lake Balaton and just purchased a 1992 Hunter 35.5 Legend. Can somebody having the same boat help me how to separate and block the waste-tank to avoid pumping water into it? Before we go out we visit the marina's wc and only use the head for peeing and never use it for "big thing". For emergency we have a chemical toilette. The boat has the original aluminium tank and want to avoid future problems with it. Cheers. ML
