Seawind 1160/1250 sailing

1. Is looking through the front two or at least one window forward presents a problem, like glare, restricted view, rain, etc.?
2. When the weather is really heavy and all openings are closed, how do you control the chart-plotter that is inside?

I never encountered these obstacles, but boats are very popular and it could be not a big deal. Thank you.

1. Vision is fine with the side window removed which means you are looking through 1 set of glass.

2. Easly done using an Ipad or repeater system , same as what you would have on any other cat. Quick overview of what we use in the following vid at the 3 minute point.

Personally, that is why we did not buy a Seawind. We wanted full vision forward and protection from seas/wind.

Re: Seawind 1160/1250 sailing

I prefer looking thru glass windows rather than eisenglass (sp?). We've done some heavy weather racing in big waves and the Maine cat had their eisenglass "protection" taken out by green water coming onboard. Also, in nasty offshore passages, a lot of time we sit inside under the hardtop, with the chartplotter, and let the AP steer. True our Seawind is the shorter version, but cockpit layout similar. And when we do sail steer, it's nice to be able to do from either side of boat.
