Music for sailing

Just curious, what are your must have sailing songs? Doesn't have to be about sailing. I really love The Whaler by Thrice, and on the other end of the spectrum I really dig Ramukanzi by Onetox made popular by the Delos crew. Looking forward to hearing your opinions. Thanks.

Re: Music for sailing

I like everything.

Sailing up the Straights of FL one night, totally overcast, so dark you literally could not see your hand in front of your face; Dark Side of the Moon seemed appropriate, as loud as it would go.

When I'm working on the engine I like to play the Brandenberg Concertos. Makes me work faster.

Sundown something mellow: James Taylor, Norah Jones and yes, even Buffet.

Reggae for breakfast. Arise by Third World is perfect.

In between, Bob Dylan (Shelter From the Storm is sometimes appropriate, Miles Davis, Bela Fleck, Jimi Hendrix. Even been known to put on a little Hank Williams or Bob Wills and occasionally Glenn Miller. Basically if it's good I like it.

I have several music playlists that we listen to throughout the day on Sail Quest.
You should read our blog post "Music to Calm the Savage Pirate".

Re: Music for sailing

I adore Schiller's music https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schiller_(band) , it's a very talented Greman electronic music band They create really wonderful music, beautiful and relazing at the same time, for me it's the best soundtrack during my sailing!
I also like such bands as mind.in.a.box and Camouflage, they're the best in this case for me too
