South Pacific - Fiji to Vanuatu and Beyond

Ahoy, I'm a 33-year-old geographer and have been seeing the World since 2015. Currently seeking the opportunity to further deepen my sailing experience and to visit the South Pacific Islands.
Have done 2,500 sea miles and have spent 2 weeks on sea, no seasickness, eager to learn, happy to cook. Hungarian (EU, Schengen) passport.
Please let me know.
Thank you & All the best

I am in Fiji and seeking crew for trip to US but you would need a visa for the USA.

PM me.

Re: South Pacific - Fiji to Vanuatu and Beyond

Thanks for messaging me.
Hungary is a visa waiver country so I wouldn't need one if I had no visa to Iran in my passport. That's the only obstacle.
Would you be happy having crew even for separate sections of your voyage?
Cheers

You do need a visa for the USA if you enter by boat. Japan Alaska is a possible single leg.

As a holder of a Hungarian passport you are granted a 90 day visa upon entry to the USA but...... You might be required to post a refundable bond or show money equal to an airline ticket back to the EU because you arrived via vessel one way. The American government wants to know how you are leaving.

Attn. Siberian Sea
I never heard that you can enter the continental US or even the USVI by boat without a Visa. Where is a special way to enter the USVI befor by public transportation eg. ferry and after to enter without VISA but having en entry stamp from US Immigration in your passport.
But that what you are writing about are the rules for French Polynesia. For the US you have to apply for a Visa before entering if trying to enter you will be fined. That as written on the homeland security office on St. John Island USBVI and warnings for trying to enter US territory are published in the BVI's.
No way without Visa, apply for one in your home country. It is a little complicated as you have to ask in person. For my self when sailing I applied in Port of Spain.
If in doubt ask the US Embassy or look at noonsite.com USA immigration.
Good luck.

I'm a US citizen and my wife is from France. She has no papers for America and clears US customs on her French passport so we deal with this all the time. The USA has an agreement with EU members and Hungry just like France have their passports stamped upon entry and are given a 90 day visa. But I believe it's each year or so she must pay 25 dollars for this ESTA. This is "electronic system for travel authorization" . Anyone who desires to visit the USA should check in advance to see if this is required for this citizenship.
