Sailing Maniacs / Long Distance Singlehanders

This old film has lots of sailing history besides the story about the sailing /boat punks.

More about the Skipper from the documentary Hold Fast

I assume he was the Skipper since it appears he started the venture and found a crew

Moxie Marlinspike is also the creator of Signal, the encrypted messeging app I have used for years.

Yep, he's a very smart guy and learned the most about sailing when he took an engineless Catalina 27 down the West Coast

Unfortunately many here on CF disagree with the sailor punk thing, but I thought it was pretty awesome especially with the upbeat crew he had

It also showed with boating/sailing experience you can cruise the Bahamas with a $1,000 boat with a few improvements and that there's really no need to sell the house and buy a really expensive boat
