Marinas in Sardinia

We want to leave our Discovery 55 somewhere in Sardinia from mid July until mid August. We’ve had an incredibly high quote from Olbia marina, (6.500 euros !) Does anyone know of a good place for us to leave the boat?

All the marinas there will be outrageous during that time period. Yasmine Hammamet, Tunisia is only a two day sail from Olbia, and probably a quarter the price. It is safe and secure (insist on dock berth vs seawall). Any fraction of a month is charged at the much higher daily rate, so try and stay for one, or two months, because 1.5 months will cost you about 2 months dockage.

The airport in Tunis serves various major European airports and is about a 1 hour drive from the marina. Checking into and out of Tunisia in Yasmine Hammamet is tedious, but fairly straightforward. I didn't find many good food vendors there. However, restaurant food is very inexpensive. The toilet/bathroom arrangements are not 1st world, but not 3rd world. There is a large liveaboard contingent there that can probably help you with the finer details.

Try the marinas on north coast, we have a 12 month berth with Comorano Marina in Porto Torres, cost 2,900 euro per year for 12m yacht, is about 30 mins from Alghero airport.

Also marina at Isola Rossa is cheap, midway between Alghero and Olbia airports

For couple of years I used to be regular guest there.Nice marina with many services such as restaurants, bars, night clubs ...
To appreciate it you have to have a little money and friends in the area.

And I have both.

I can really recommend Nautica Pinna, the marina in Bosa on the west coast. Very good engineers, a very clean and well-organised yard, helpful staff and an excellent operation in every way. The yard is just inside the river entrance and therefore very well protected (big hill to the north, others to east and south - Bosa lies in a little basin of its own). We had our boat (24 tonnes) on the hard there for late July and August last year and saved a lot of money, had a few jobs done and explored inland a bit. We could have stayed on board even when we were on the hard, they said, but we didn’t (although the nearby hotels are not so great; we went to the UK for August).
The cost for the hard-standing was less than 1000 euros, but I can’t find the exact amount; the lift, wash and relaunch was equally reasonable. It was great to have the boat safe from the August madness!
Bosa is quite picturesque and there is lots to see around about. A couple of good restaurants - honest, not pretentious.

Where di you stay in the end. We had a similar problem with our Discovry 55 and sailed it back to Valencia.

There is also a small marina, but how about anchoring her in the very well protected Porto Conte bay and maybe get a local to check on her every few days.
