Apostle Islands, Lake Superior

Hi all,

Hi Gordo,

Just came back from a 3 day trip around the Apostle Islands.
Wonderful place!
Rented a Ranger 37' from Superior Charters just south of Bayfield.
Nice folks and well run.

Anyone looking for a new place to sail - I highly recommend this area.

Bob...

Next time try Canada's north shore from Thunder Bay to the Slate Islands. IMO the best cruising area in the Great Lakes if you want to get away from the pack and want to experience a remote wilderness cruising ground. Not for everyone but that's what makes it special. I am sure GordMay knows what I am talking about.
North Channel and Georgian Bay in Lake Huron also rate pretty high. The only downside are the mosquitoes and the crowds.

Welcome back, Bob. The Apostle’as are great, as is the Cdn North Shore (T. Bay to Slates). Our North Shore isn’t really as "distance friendly" (as the Apostle’s) to shorter cruises.
