Maine Sailing

Hello all,

We have scheduled a 20 day trip to Maine starting Aug 8th to get away from the heat. While there I think it would be great to get a couple overnights sailing the coast. while we usually bareboat I think we would prefer a captain with a boat that we might be able to charter for a few days out. We could help crew but would certainly appreciate the local knowledge and guide. If somebody has a well found boat and would like to go out for a bit in a nonprofessional capacity we would certainly tip on a daily basis. Anyway, just looking to see whats out there

Howdy!

I just came back from sailing to Maine from Florida.
We sailed to Penobscot Bay, up the Bagaduce River past Castine.

We also drove down the coast to Camden Maine where I spent an hour looking at the old schooner fleet there.

If I were in your boat shoes, I would do some online research into taking a sail on one of the schooners. I think that could be especially memorable.

Also, while there the winds were light, so conditions may mean little actual sailing. Of course that changes, but I would not necessarily depend on strictly sailing.
