Passages to Grenada

I will be departing St Martin on my first real ocean passages soon, heading to Grenada for the hurricane season.

It seems that people like to make initial Easting towards Antigua, rather than head toward St Kitts. To me, St Kitts is more appealing as it calls for a day sail, rather than an over-nighter. Since I'm single-handed, and haven't experimented with my windvane yet, I'd rather do the day sail. It also means I'll have steady power for my tiller pilot.

What advice do people have for the St Martin to Grenada passage?

I wonder how much of that easting towards Antigua is because of Sailing Week, or more like Sailing Month that goes on in Antigua. Plus, Antigua is nicer than Kitts if you're going to spend some time. If you can get a bit of ENE wind.. the run from St. Martin wouldn't be bad. Of course, that's not what we had. .
