Re: Help / FAQ

Hakan,

I have been busy with real life recently. I will try to make a version of O that gives some debugging info when loading plugins. Give me a few days.

Re: Help / FAQ

penduik..
i think you've read t-dans kind offer. If nothing else's coming up do you have the time to await a test version of OCPN or is urgent cos you need to navigate? (I don't have a machine with the same issue easy available.)

I suggest you uninstall OpenCPN. Then delete the OpenCPN plugins folder and all sub folders. Then install OpenCPN and see what happens.

If you want to make a backup copy of the plugins folder that would be a good idea. But if you find the above idea works you will have to install other plugins one at a time. Don't just copy all of them into plugins folder in one go.
Hi Dan! Hi Hakan!
I'll do that and be back later with the result...

It's not urgent...but just want to prepare a navigation (routes) with my PC with tide and weather. For sailing, I use a Lenovo Tablett with O for Androïd...

Re: Help / FAQ - Plug-in window empty in V4.8.0

Dear T-Dan, Dear Hakan,

I have some good news for you!!

1) When I've desinstall O, it conserve a dossier with files in program(x86). The desinstall is not really complete and can cause bad re-install. No?

2) I've deleted the dossier and all the files in, then I've passed "Ccleaner" to clean the registry.

3) I've launch a new install of O V4.8.0 and....the 4 plug-ins included in appears in the plug-ins-window and after activation, works well!!

Don't know if those informations can help you and programmers but this is a good issue to solve my problem. I'm happy!!

Hope to read you soon. Have a good night in Europe!
Thank you guys!

Re: Help / FAQ

Glad it is working. No need to run CC cleaner as the registry is not much used by O. Only some folder names are there.

Working on the boat today and for money tomorrow. I have a test version of O that might help find which Widows plugin is breaking O. Send PM if you want a link to the installer. Or you can build it yourself from here:

https://github.com/transmitterdan/Op...ee/pluginDebug

This branch is same as the O master branch but has a new command line option -d. If you run O with the -d option it will put up a little message box each time it gets ready to load a plugin. If you click YES then it will load the plugin. If you click NO or CANCEL it will not load that plugin and move on to the next one. With a little trial and error it should be possible to figure out which plugin(s) cause O to misbehave.

Re: Help / FAQ

t-dan..
Builds and run fine but the actual machine is not reachable for me, so I can't debug the failure. See also: http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ml#post2495478
We may continue this discussion on that thread instead?

Re: Help / FAQ

Ok, we can move threads. i would like to get the plugins folder and data folder from a machine that has the problem. I know that's a lot of data but based on recent findings i am pretty sure the problem is in one or both of those folders.

Re: Help / FAQ

Can somebody help me? Is it possible to find the closest odject crossing on vector chart(s57/63)? My goal is to draw vectors from ship corners to closest dangerious odjects in specific radius. Like on this picture (orange lines).

I found how to get list of chart objects in the specified radius(pixels), and lat/lon of each of it. But how to find closest point of object border?
Code:
pi_rule_list = g_pi_manager->GetPlugInObjRuleListAtLatLon(target_plugin_chart, gLat, gLon, 50, cc1->GetVP());
pi_rule_list->GetFirst()->GetData()->m_lat;
Sorry for my English.

Why not try ocpnDraw_pi? It's got lots of good DR tools all ready to go!
If there is anything missing please let Jon Gough or the rest of use know, and post it in Tracker as a feature request.

Wiki https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/do...:odraw1.4_pi&s[]=ocpn&s[]=draw

Thanks.

Re: Help / FAQ

Thanks for the help, but I'm afraid you do not quite understand what I need. These vectors should be drawn automatically each time the ship's position is updated. In odrder to do this i need to know how to interact with chart objects programmatically.
But as I understand it, ocpnDraw_pi allows you to draw lines only manually.
The result should look like this picture(screenshot from Transas Pilot Pro)

Re: Help / FAQ

Nothing like this is currently available in OpenCPN. The closest you can now have is the logic the weather routing plugin has for land detection using the GSHHS basemap, which is I suppose completely useless for stuff like shown on your Transas picture.

After the EBL is "manually" drawn, it is updated as the ship moves.
The EBL is quite flexible and has a number of modes, so do not think of it as just "EBL" in the radar sense.

As I said, download OcpnDraw and use it, to see if it does what you wish.
There may be some adjustments needed to EBL to make it work the way you wish, but the basic functionality is there, and if there is something needed, I believe Jon Gough is pretty responsive if he thinks the idea or feature has merit.

You can see some examples in the manual, I believe. or even better, perhaps review the Ocpn-Draw threads. But the easiest is to just try it.

Re: Help / FAQ

I was looking at your diagram, I see a bow and stern speed vector, which Odraw does not currently do. However Jon and I have been discussing the possibility of creating various types of vectors useful in these situations. Perhaps this would be a good additional feature for OcpnDraw, a "vector" object that would accept nmea0183 speed and direction. What would the data source for these vectors be? GPS and some rotational component? 2 gps?
