Hi, Folks ---

Been out of town for awhile, only to return to this news. Oh, well, I suppose it could be expected: New model, lots of new technology, lots of training needed for new tasks on the factory floor. Probably more than a few "oops! what do we do with this?" moments over there, too.

I also heard from my dealer with similar news. Our late July date will probably be late September or early October. This does create some concerns, as I don't particularly relish trying to sail out of the Bay of Biscay in late October/early November, but I suppose that's better than January!

I'm really not too concerned the dealers. In many respects, they are subject to the same frustrations -- they just get the news slightly ahead of us. My dealer made an interesting comment, though: He recalled when the situation with the 440 was similar. Lots of boats had been ordered, early assembly problems leading to delays, and then positive reviews that got even more orders, up to a 2-year waiting list. Lagoon really buckled down, though, opened another line and got caught up surprisingly fast. So, maybe what we need to see is that they sell even more at the boat shows.
