Hi, Spin_Drift here... I misplaced my password so I'm using my husband's computer...

With heavy heart I tell you that ORCA staid in California until next sailing season.

This was due to several factors.

The work we had done on ORCA took longer than we had planned because new things kept cropping up as we went along.

The weather, short term and long term, was not co-operating.

The insurance company refused to change the "trip completion date" from September first to middle of September.

Allen, our crew member, had to be in Maine in the beginning of August.

On the positive side, we gained a lot of knowledge on trip planning etc. Knowledge on tuning the riggin and just in general about how to plan for a long trip like this.

We like to thank Allen for his help and input. Amongst other things, he is very knowledgeable about weather and charting the course. He is also a good sailor. We wish him great success in his future ventures.

.

As much as we wanted to get ORCA home, we feel OK that she is at her old berth.... She will be looked after and wait for us the get her next year....
