They are now sending me a check for 300 bucks, and say they will not cover the work done to date. It took over 70 days for them to come to this conclusion. They now say they will cover other repairs, but now the "auto adjuster' won't return phone calls and no one is working on the boat.
Be very aware when purchasing insurance. Ask to see a copy of the policy. See what it covers and more importantly what it does not. I went with my PO policy, though it would be easier.... oh not.
When the boat is paid off, I will only have liability policy. I will self insure the hull and contents.

Firstly, I would really like to know whou your thieving insurance company is, so pm me please, I live in Texas. Secondly, if you do not have the proper legal help, I have connections in that area, two friends that are attorneys that have a combined 70 years of law practice in Texas, high profile guys. Either would reccomend the right Corpus Attorney, one of the friends is in San Antonio.
I hope you make this payoff for you. Jurys, if you can get it there, have very little patience with insurance companies. BTW, start writing letters, State Board, Attorney Generals Office and the office of the President of the insurance company concerned. Start raising hell. Confirm every letter with e mail, even emailing and printing out and sending the identical snail mail. They might just pay off if you are a big enough pain in the ass, just to shut you up. Obnoxious is not always bad, not the chosen method but a fall-back position.
You might social engineer them, call as sombody else for some reason to get names of various people in the company. How about finding out who are the officers on the board of the company, bound to be public record, start harrassing them. Battles like this become a hobby with me, and I tell them so. I will f+++ with the company until they throw dirt in my face. I am screwing Sears to this day for something they did to me in 1981. I cost them money anytime I can. Find a craftsman tool, I return it for new, influence a family member or friend not to do business with them, I do.
Good luck and keep us posted and give em hell.
