Installed a 5000 btu unit in the companion way hatch area on my Nimble Nomad Trawler. I remove two of the hatch boards and replace them with the AC unit. I made a board for the AC unit to fit in and it works great. No power issues as the boat has 30 amp service installed. I plug the unit into a GFI panel inside the boat.
