| First Boat (advice please)
So I recently started to do a lot more sailing, and have decided I want to purchase my first. I have the opportunity to pick up a mid 70's 30 foot grampian, for around $10,000 canadian. The boat is def in working condition (i know the owner and i sail with him regularily, the only reason he's selling is because hes 78) and I would have it surveyed before the transaction. My main goals are to defienitly sail to the Bahamas and maybe circumnavigate/coastal hop around most of north america).
My main question(s) are:
Any thoughts on the grampian line.
What exactly is the capabilities of this boat. I understand that this mainly depends on the experience of the crew and what not, but i kinda wanna know what would and wouldnt be a good idea to attempt.
Is the boat worth the price tag? Or any other suggestions or pointers towards another style or model along similar pricing?
