Yep. Its dead easy. Its a bar for beginners to learn on.

The Lauriton VMR is on Ch 16 and they will sprinkle some advice.

When we went over it we were a fair bit early and caught a nice wave up the bum for a bit of a surf. Make sure the tide is actually coming in... it helps

The most difficult spot is up the channel a bit, after all the bar. It gets quite shallow and we may have given the bottom a little rub, but its only mud so back off and move a few meters (generally left).

The anchorage is right opposite the Lauriton RSL. Drop facing up river because thats where most of the flow comes from. Its good mud but drop lots of chain out to get it nicely dug in. At the change of tide the boats move a neat little circle but not enough to reset.

You can tie up to the RSL wharf for free to go into dinner or put on water.

The RSL is great, as is every little shop and restaurant in the whole town.

Its got to be one of the cutest, least affected little town on the coast.

The photos below are: The pontoon on the corner of the RSL wharf; Camden Haven from the Bar to Lauriton from the Big Brother mountain (yes we sweated!). You can see Sea Life second from the right, at the bottom of the photo out from the RSL.

The speed boats give a good idea of the channel. The closest 2 boats to the bar have the shallow area between them.

I hope this helps.
